You are eligible to participate in this NEW Select or Enterprise Agreement and receive a discount on Microsoft products based on the state software volumes. Enterprise Agreement: If you have 250 or more desktops and are able to commit to licensing all desktops to run Microsoft’s Enterprise products (Office Pro, Core® Client Access License and Windows upgrades) for a 3 year period, you can participate in this program at the state’s negotiated desktop price. (The open enrollment period ends October 31st, 2004) Select Agreement: Designed for licensing specific Microsoft products, the Select Agreement offers immediate product discounts based upon the state’s forecasted deployments over the 2 year life of the agreement. En Pointe Technologies has been selected to administer the Enterprise and Select Agreements in Alabama. You may be purchasing software through other means including full packaged (shrink-wrapped) and Microsoft Open License Packs. By purchasing software outside the Enterprise or Select Agreements, you are likely over spending on software licenses and may inadvertently put your organization at risk of procuring illegal copies of Microsoft product. Illegitimate software is rampant throughout the United States; this has a devastating impact on our economy. Software theft affects jobs, wages, taxes and retail sales right in your local community. In fact, in 2000, the state of Alabama had a 35.2% piracy rate which caused the loss of more than $61 million in salaries and wages, more than $15 million in tax revenue, and nearly 1,800 jobs due to software theft. Microsoft is working with many organizations to provide tools that help our customers fight piracy and more effectively manage their software assets. For more information on how you can take advantage of the Alabama Enterprise and Select Agreements, or details on tools available to help you fight piracy and manage your software assets.
